Soulfish
Title: Soulfish
Year: 2023
Material: Epoxy resin, pigments, Plexiglas
Dimensions: 160 × 98 × 1 cm
Soulfish explores the tension between opposites and their potential for harmonious convergence. Gold and silver—two metals with contrasting symbolic meanings—serve as the central poles of the work. Gold represents warmth, energy, and vitality, while silver embodies stillness, reflection, and mental clarity. In their complementary relationship, a visual dialogue unfolds between movement and quietude, between outward radiance and inward luminosity.
The golden line cuts through the composition like a pulsating axis—alive, directional, and dynamic. The silver circle, by contrast, remains calm and centered, a point of stillness within the space that does not emit light but receives it. Between these two forces, a marbled, fluid background emerges, its currents reminiscent of water, mist, or cosmic energy.
Soulfish invites contemplation of the balance between the material and immaterial realms. The work is not a confrontation of contrasts, but an image of their unification—a state in which opposites do not collide but complement one another. Here, gold and silver become metaphors for the interplay of body and soul, rationality and emotion, earth and light.
